sideby

sideby is an AI-powered platform connecting educators to learn and grow side by side, transforming education through collective innovation and AI fluency. When they came to us, they had built a vibrant community of educators eager to develop AI skills together, but lacked the visual identity to match their mission.

THE CHALLENGE

sideby is an emerging player in the edtech space, building a growing community of educators. However, they lacked a digital presence and cohesive brand identity to establish their foundation and seize opportunities for the future. They needed a visual system that could honor tradition while feeling fresh and contemporary—one that communicates the warmth of their community while maintaining the credibility to attract members, partners, and funding in today's digital landscape.

OUR APPROACH

We set out to create a brand that felt joyful, nerdy, and authentically educator-centered—honoring classroom traditions while looking boldly toward the future. Drawing inspiration from the tactile world of teaching—erasers, notebooks, chalk dust, and colorful learning materials—we developed a visual system bursting with dynamic eraser layouts, education-inspired textures, and vibrant color blocks that celebrate how individual voices create collective wisdom.

The logo takes its form from an eraser—a powerful symbol that learning is progress, and that we can always come back and start over again. We paired this with an accessible color palette that balances warmth with authority and innovation, then created a duotone icon system that brings consistency and personality across every touchpoint. We also brought motion into the mix, designing an animated video that brings sideby's mission to life: match, talk, learn, grow.

Now sideby has a brand that actually looks like how their community feels—warm, collaborative, and unapologetically nerdy about education. It's a system that works everywhere from Instagram stories to conference booths, giving them the visual presence they need to grow alongside the educators they serve.
